Houston Stonewall Young Democrats Endorses Randy Bates in Texas House of Representatives District 139 Race

The Houston Stonewall Young Democrats met on February 8, 2016 for their annual endorsement meeting. After participating in a screening, the committee recommended Randy Bates to the general body for a vote. The general body agreed with the screening committee that Randy Bates is the best candidate to serve Texas House District 139.

With the overwhelming amount of support the campaign has received, from the Houston GLBT Caucus, Texas State Teachers Association, AFL-CIO, Harris County Young Democrats, the decision is clear which of the candidates in this race has the vision, integrity, and experience to lead Texas House District 139 in the upcoming legislative session.

Randy Bates stated:

“I am honored to receive the Houston Stonewall Young Democrats endorsement. I look forward to working with everyone to ensure Texas House of Representative District 139 has a bright future. Everyone is welcomed to come and have their voice heard. I look forward to bringing a clear vision on how we will tackle the challenges our state faces and providing solutions. There is no other candidate in this race who has been able to gain the support of many and I am humbled that there will be an opportunity to speak up for those who may feel their voices is not being heard not only within our city, but within our state”.
